Ample Computer Services is the company contracted out by our district to maintain and service the district's server, network and repair request. During a routine visit, Mr. Ibanez allowed me to accompany him during his evaluation of the equipment at the junior high. In the server room, I was shown the network connection and how the switches are in need of replacement. The management of technology on our campus depends on the computers and internet working correctly. I expressed concern of the wireless hardware and it'll ability to reach all devices used campus wide. The server provides a resource for teacher to retrieve and maintain files for lessons and technology based instruction. With the upcoming professional development to implement the pilot program BYOD, teachers will need continuous access to the internet for students to use their own devices. The pilot program will be a change in the way technology is presented and used within our campus. As the leader of the pilot program, trainings are set for the weeks after spring break. Teachers will attend several trainings on using Google Docs and Apps as an educational instruction tool in their lesson and ISTE NETS for students. As BJH moves forward to engage students in the latest technology, resources and training material will be available through the server as needed.  As a facilitator providing additional resources is critical allowing teachers and students to incorporate the Smart board with Google Docs along with other software being used. A folder will be attached to the server, obtainable by teachers, containing BYOD ideas, lessons, troubleshooting guides and survey of how the students interacted with using their own devices for the assignment/project.
